Write-a-thon Stretch Goal

I achieved my Clarion West Write-a-thon goals early. I am now working on a stretch goal: the next chapter.

The next chapter has two major scenes, with several lesser ones. One of the major scenes existed in previous drafts, but in this draft, it is more intense. The other major scene is new for this draft.

I expected this chapter to be relatively short and easy, but the outline turned out to be 11 (single spaced) pages.

No problem.

Write-a-thon Progress

I am pleased with my progress. This chapter was a significant portion of my Clarion West Write-a-thon goal. Writing it was easier than I had expected. I attribute the ease to having a decent previous draft and to performing an extensive amount of planning with mind maps and outlines.

Because of the success with this chapter, I feel I will easily make my goal, except I am aware of how hard the next chapter will be. Never allow yourself to be lulled into thinking what comes next will be as easy as what was just completed. Reaching my goal will require hard work.

Onward into “The Last Newscast.” The next chapter will be great, and more importantly, fun.
